EcoCrews
Program
EcoCrews is a climate change initiative that is funded by EcoAction Environment Canada. FutureWatch is working in Partnership with Kipling Collegiate Institute (KCI) and North York Community House (NYCH) to reduce their carbon footprint.
The program will be run over a two year period. The first year we will be concentrating on reducing the carbon footprint of the school and agency through education and awareness building on topics that range from energy efficiency, garbage and recycling, green meetings, and water conservation. During the second year of the program we will focus on our outreach to the surrounding community for the school, and the clientele from the agency.
EcoCrews have been established at KCI with 15 students and at NYCH with 6 staff members. These EcoCrews will be working with FutureWatch to deliver program material, conduct audits, and understand the direction that the program needs to take to be successful!
Goal
The goal for the program is that at the end of the two years we will be able to reduce the carbon footprint of the school, agency, and community by 10%!
